MEET THE DOCTOR

Dr. Prerna Mall

Dr. Prerna Mall specializes in podiatric medicine and surgery. After moving to the United States from India, Dr. Mall holds a bachelors degree in biology from Nova Southeastern University. During her internship in Philadelphia, she developed a strong interest in diabetic wound care and podiatric surgery. She then pursued her doctorate in podiatric medicine and graduated with honors from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in 2013. She further completed her residency training from Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut with an emphasis on podiatric surgery, diabetic foot care, and limb salvage. After residency, Dr. Mall founded Lake Wales Foot and Ankle Care, Inc in 2016. She since has been providing quality and compassionate care to the residents of Polk County and central Florida.

Dr. Mall's training encompasses all aspect of lower extremity care which includes pathology pertaining to the foot, ankle, and leg in all patient populations. Her areas of particular interest include complexities of the diabetic foot, wound care, limb salvage, traumatic injuries of the foot and ankle, and sports medicine.

Dr. Mall affiliates with Lake Wales Medical Center. She also works closely with different medical specialties such as internal medicine, infectious disease, vascular surgery, general surgery, and orthopedic surgery. Her overall approach to patient care is to treat the individual in their entirety while laying emphasis on the lower extremity health. Dr. Mall values the importance of evidence-based medicine, team approach and mutual understanding. She likes to arrive at the treatment decisions together with the patient by having a thorough discussion of the presenting pathology and coming up with an effective individual-centered treatment plan.

Dr. Mall loves nature and enjoys watching movies and TV shows. She is happily married to Asim Mall who is the practice administrator for Lake Wales Foot and Ankle Care. Asim and Dr. Mall welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Blaiden Mall in December 2017.
